The most basic and vital service a leader can provide is the diligent daily care of his own heart and relationship with Christ.
Psalm 26:2-3
Test me O Lord and try me, examine my heart and mind, for your love is ever before me and I walk continually in your truth.
The heart is capable of Great Good and Great evil and if it is focused on serving self, it can artfully manipulate and deceive others through words and deeds into doing what appears to be right – but doing it for the wrong reasons.
However, a heart kept pure and strong, and wise by honesty and timely confessions, and a constant surrender to Christ carries the capacity to serve and inspire others to do the right things for the right reasons.
Genesis 11: 4-7 Tower of Babylon
And they said, come let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the sky. Let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise, we will be scattered over the face of the earth.
Then the Lord came down to look over the city and the tower that the men were building. The Lord said,
“ If, as one people all having the same language, they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let Us go down there and confuse their language so that they will not understand one another’s speech.
You see here it is related in scripture the power of UNITY… A true leader must realize that no matter the vision… He cannot do it alone.
A successful leader must have a strong and dedicated team by His side.
What this accomplishes is a two-way affect.
First it allows you to delegate certain aspects of your ministry to others while at the same time you are developing, teaching and mentoring them.
This will bring personal growth to their spiritual well being as well as relieving some responsibilities off of your shoulders.
Why is this necessary? It is necessary because one of the major downfalls of ministers today is that they get so busy tasking that they lose precious one on one time with God and when this happens it causes their own spirit to be mal-nourished, and this is where most ministers lose sight of their own relationship with Jesus Christ and their heart goes astray.
The most astonishing thing has taught me these powerful truths I’m about to share with you in these series of messages.
You see my husband and I have been youth Pastors and even pastored small churches, but my greatest teaching and training about ministry came with some of the greatest struggles in our life.
And in the midst of those times when my world came crashing down around me, I learned what it meant to say I have had the rug of life pulled right out from under me and I hit rock bottom very hard.
But at the same time God opened some great doors for me and guess what? It was not in ministry but in management. Yes, God gave me teams of people to work with, good and bad, that I must train to help me achieve all of my goals, Sales goals, merchandising goals, and huge responsibilities to achieve.
I had 15 years of training and with each new level of success I achieved the Lord let me know without any shadow of doubt that it was only temporary, and the things that I was learning and developing to make me successful, He would teach me to apply spiritually and through His divine insight I was given this burden to share these much needed insights with others.
Because many Pastors and congregations struggle and some even fail because they do not know God’s divine principles that will help them succeed in ministry and stay 100% in tune with God’s destiny for them.
Mathew 23:11-12
The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Religious beliefs, personal life, professional life,
Jesus and You, Servant and Leader.
Lord, teach us not to separate you from any part of our lives. Let us be transparent both as a Leader and a follower of you.
For Jesus Himself sent a clear message to all who would follow Him that leadership was to be first and foremost an act of service to others.
Mathew 20:28
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as ransom for many.
Jesus gave us the highest example of true leadership. His message was pure and strong as each and every selfless act He demonstrated in the pages of scripture that you and I should follow.
The truly exciting thing about following Jesus is that He never sends you forth into any mission or ministry without a vision, a plan, and a desire to succeed.
And when we attribute all of our strengths and abilities to Him, it will carry us through the most difficult of times.
If our heart is pure before Him, we understand that it is His wisdom and guiding hand that will take us from glory to glory and help us achieve the vision He has set before us.
When we encounter times of failure and disappointments it will be His arms again we run into for renewal and redirection.
Mathew 11: 28-30
Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
You see what I’m trying to teach you in this first lesson is that Leadership is first and foremost a matter of the heart and the condition of your heart,
And how you maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ will ultimately determine the outcome of your destiny.
Luke 6:45
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart the mouth speaketh.
One thing I want you to know about these series of messages is that I will be teaching you through honesty and great compassion for where the Lord is wanting to take us to. I will be revealing some of the hurts, failures and disappointments I myself have had to overcome and these lessons have come with a great price of personal achievements and failures and I must be brutally honest in order for you to fully understand the message Jesus wants to convey to your heart.
If you have a religious or judgemental spirit then I must tell you these series of messages are not for you, but if you have an open mind and a teachable spirit you are the one I'm reaching for.
Please join us for the next lesson series that first allows us to look deeply into the heart of man and second will allow us to take a look around us today and ask ourselves what are we allowing into our spirit and how does it affect our standing with God, but more important how does it affect the purity of our heart.
One of the most important things we will learn is that to be an effective leader our eyes must always look inward first, we must learn to see our own selves honestly, the good and the bad,
secondly, we must put our own personal relationship with Jesus Christ above any and all
that is before us, and thirdly we must learn to see others through the eyes of our savior who has unconditional love for all men. And fourth, we must learn to lead by example, know when to be a servant and when to be a leader, actively listen to those around you, remember it is not about you at all, it's all about you walking in the gift and calling of the master and accomplishing only the mission He himself has commissioned you to do. And, last but not least, you cannot do it alone, but choose carefully your team, everybody is not called and anointed and appointed to be under your covering, and those who are out of place will be your time steelers, those you have to babysit, and spend more time keeping them encouraged and they will drain the life out of you.
We will talk in this series about the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people so
that you as a leader can be most effective in the area's Christ is leading you to, and you can get there with much ease when you are not carrying a ball and chain filled with a lazy and unproductive team.
I told you we were going to be brutally honest in these series of messages, so I hope that does not offend you, but we will go there as part of these series of messages.
In the end I hope to fill you up with new strength and courage to take on the next level God is taking you to and also bring you to your knees in repentace for allowing yourself to be overcome by the many distractions that have held you back.
I hope you will keep coming back to this website as I will permanently post each lesson series for you to follow.
Let's make this journey together, me, you and
Jesus......I think we're gonna be blessed.
